Melissa Rogers grew up in Houston, Texas. From High School and beyond, Melissa won top recognition as an artist. Her painting and print making have sold internationally. Her world travels have influenced her work. When she moved to North Carolina, she discovered the world of Lapidary Arts. She studied with several Master Lapidary Artists, Master Silver Smiths’ and Master Wire Artists around the country. She continued to sell her art work and jewelry line in Exclusive Boutiques and Fine Art Galleries across the country as well as teaching for the Southeast Gemological Society.
Through the years, she has traveled extensively around the world learning and exploring. She feels that her travel experiences are very much intertwined with her art. She recently chose Tucson, Arizona as her home. She said she loves the light, the warmth of the people and the energy of Tucson. As a GIA professional, she has taught in lapidary schools, had a successful jewelry company, and been a recognized artist in both jewelry design and painting for more than 30 years. It is a passion that has never wavered. She is a creative soul and has the innate desire to create and capture the beauty of things around her. To own a piece of her work is to own a distinctive work of art.
