Honoring the 40th anniversary of Lawrence Lee’s first "one man" show.
Fans of the internationally acclaimed artist will not want to miss this opening which will feature a number of new "Shaman" paintings, as well as landscapes, giclées on aluminum and paper, and imagery from "Spirit Garden", a special series he developed for Ballet Tucson’s opening show of the season on November 18th.
Based on Dia de los Muertos, his creations are featured throughout the ballet, in projections, props, and costuming. Two fascinating multi- dimensional 8' images of a bride and groom, created by Lee as a backdrop for the performance, will be on display at the gallery along with a new series of "Catrina" paintings inspired by his work on the ballet (see photos below). Several Ballet Tucson dancers will be at the gallery show in full costume as well.
